Marshmallow’s owners contacted animal control because they did not want her anymore. They surrendered the 100-pound Great Dane to the Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue because they could no longer care for her.
The Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue contacted a woman named Jordann and asked if she was willing to foster Marshmallow. Jordann immediately agreed and drove straight to them to pick Marshmallow up.
Jordann recalled that Marshmallow was timid and scared when she first got her. Jordann saw how skinny Marshmallow was, so she promised her that she would help her gain weight.
Jordann shared that she has four dogs at home, and they all loved meeting new fosters like Marshmallow. Jordann recalled that Marshmallow was so shy when she first met her pack.
Marshmallow only ate if Jordann sits beside her and watch her eat. Jordann shared that Marshmallow seems to be afraid of being alone, so she always accompanied her whenever it is mealtime.
Jordann recalled that Marshmallow was restless and kept on pacing the bedside when she experienced her first thunderstorm. Jordann cuddled Marshmallow and tried to pet her so that she would not feel scared during the storm.
Jordann shared that Marshmallow is more of a people-person and rarely played with the other dogs. Marshmallow often gets anxious whenever the pack got too rowdy during playtime.
Jordann shared that Marshmallow started coming out of her shell when she started having some of her friends come over to the house with their dogs. Jordann said that Marshmallow is not rowdy and is generally just a calm pup.
Jordann admitted that she was nervous about letting Marshmallow go because she was practically glued to her. However, Marshmallow got adopted into a loving family after a couple of weeks, and Jordann could not be any happier for the timid Great Dane.
