There’s nothing like a little encouragement to get you where you need to be. It’s a proven method that gets results every single time, regardless of the participants and audience.
This Golden Retriever can attest to encouragement’s positive effects. The puppy named Caesar was being taught how to jump, and because he’s still quite young, he couldn’t get the concept of jumping right.
The motivation was right; it was food, and nothing in the world speaks to little pupper than that. Caesar was told to jump, but he did the opposite.
The pup went under the stick that was meant as his bar to jump over. Caesar got to his food alright, and that’s all that mattered.
Not to his humans, though; they had to teach Caesar this important skill. Otherwise, he might not be able to enjoy life to the fullest.
They tried to lower the stick a couple of times, but Caesar merely squeezed his body under it to get to his snacks.
That’s when this family decided to encourage the puppy to jump. They positioned the stick lower, firmly held it on both hands, and then asked the pup to jump.
Caesar seemed to get it, and he jumped over the stick to his human family’s delight. We think that he got what they wanted him to do the first time. It’s just that he found it easier to crawl than jump.
We couldn’t fault you with that logic, Caesar. To be honest, we think you were being cheeky with the whole thing, but hey, you got it right eventually.
The point is, you were able to jump, so now, everybody’s happy. You got the treats, they got you to jump over the stick, so mission accomplished.
Thanks for a dose of positive vibes, Caesar. Here’s to more of those in the future!
