Perfectly timed instances are one in a million. We love stories that include perfect timing as it stimulates our curiosity. Is there a hidden force behind these events, or are these wonderful moments just products of sheer dumb luck? The answer might always evade us, but the amazement never will.
In this story, we talk about the perfect timing that this Nash County deputy had when he encountered the Snow family and helped their poor pup even when he was off-duty. Law enforcers need their rest too, but for Deputy Heath, he is always ready to help regardless.
The Snow family’s pet dog, Riley, never set paw outside their home in Spring Hope, North Carolina. So when the pooch ran outside, everyone went into a panic. Trey Snow ran after his best friend in his pajamas, in the dark. He couldn’t see the pup, so the 11-year-old followed Riley’s voice towards a 10-foot deep well.
Trey feared the obvious, but he still needed to inspect the scene to confirm it. Poor Riley has fallen into the well which was covered by a rotten plank. Riley was standing up on his hind legs, with water up to his neck. The poor pup was whimpering, and clawing on the walls, desperate to get out.
Trey knew he needed to get Riley out of there quickly or he will not survive. Not knowing what to do, he started crying. Not even his parents, who followed him to the scene, knew what to do about their dog’s situation. Luckily for them, Deputy Heath saw Trey running on the street in his pajamas. He figured that was unusual, and he followed him, thinking that he might need some help.
He was spot on. The deputy asked Trey’s dad to hold him by his feet while he lowered himself down the well to retrieve Riley, and it worked! They rushed the pooch to a vet’s clinic, and he was given a clean bill of health. Now he is home, safe, and sound. Thanks to this heroic deputy, who came across Trey at the right time.
