Streetdog Foundation found Liam in a dumpster in Memphis, Tennessee. He was in the worst state and the rescuers believed he was used as bait in dogfighting. He had fresh wounds right on his face and all over his body, and he looked so defeated.
The rescuers quickly transported Liam to their hospital, where the vets attended to him right away. They promised him they’ll nurse him back to health. He was worthy, so they did everything they could to help him.
Liam took his time recovering. His wounds healed pretty quickly but he needed time to learn to trust people again. While he tried to get comfortable around humans, he got a little orange puppy stuffed toy that became his best friend. It was his icon of trust.
Once he was well enough, Liam left the hospital and continued to his foster home. His foster mom, Tammy Hardison, quickly noticed he loved toys so much. So every time they went to the pet store, she made sure to let him get at least one.
Before long, the rescue dog was ready to find his new home. Leslie Owen and her family fell in love with him. They knew caring for him would require lots of work, but they were ready for it.
Liam felt a bit confused at first but her new dog sister, Dahlia, also a rescue dog, helped him adjust to his new life. Wherever she was, he was also there. He took cues from her and he thrived because of her.
His life wasn’t so good at first. He suffered and endured so much pain. But because Liam believed someone will eventually change his life, he held on and survived.
From being an abused dog, Liam is now a beloved member of a beautiful family. His mom cooks his food and buys him toys almost every day. He lives a super spoiled life because that’s what he deserves.
