Rescue Dog Meets An Unlikely Best Friend Who Visits Him Regularly To Chat And Play

Rescue Dog Meets An Unlikely Best Friend Who Visits Him Regularly To Chat And Play

Belle Ava February 4, 2023

Dogs are friendly and social animals. They’re welcoming to people and animals if they’ve been properly socialized but they’re still territorial creatures that would defend their family from anyone or anything that they see as a threat.

A dog named Huey was rescued and adopted by a woman named Holly Faulconer. Although Holly and Huey have gotten quite close over the years, Huey is still a cautious dog who’s careful to go near anything or anyone that he doesn’t know. He’s also shy around other dogs and finds it difficult to make new friends.

Holly thought that Huey would never find a friend but something happened one day that changed Huey’s life forever. One afternoon, Holly was out in the yard with Huey when she saw a deer approaching to eat seeds from her bird feeder. She was surprised by how brave the little deer was considering that Huey was around. She was also a little worried that Huey might become aggressive and territorial that he might chase the deer away.

However, Holly was completely surprised when she saw Huey acting differently from what she expected. Huey was curious and a little cautious but wasn’t acting aggressively. The deer also welcomed the attention she got from Huey and even got a little closer to Huey. Ever since that day, the deer started visiting Huey a few times a week.

After a few visits from the deer, Huey became more confident and welcoming to his new friend. Holly also started giving Huey a little encouragement by talking softly to both animals and making them feel safe. Eventually, Huey and the deer developed their friendship and became closer as time passed. Holly even gave the deer a name and called her Sassafras.

Whenever Sassafras visited, Huey would always perk up and get excited. When they see each other, they would greet each other over the fence and start playing. They would spend the entire day playing and giving each other kisses over the fence.

Despite being separated by a tall fence, Huey and Sassafras still made their friendship work. Watch the video below to see the unique friendship between two very different animals.
