Let’s Adopt International is a non-profit animal rescue organization based in Valencia, Spain. Founded by Viktor Larkhill in 2005, it has saved more than a couple of thousands of animals in the country, and even abroad. The organization focuses on extreme rescues, cases that others have otherwise rejected.
“For the past fifteen years, we save animals day after day; weeks after weeks,” said Viktor. “We never stop. As a result, thousands of animals are now happy in their new homes.
Two months ago, however, when the coronavirus crisis started, Viktor immediately knew they’d be facing a very difficult challenge. His entire team is good at fighting animal cruelty. They also do great in providing their rescues medical care. But nothing prepared them for battling an invisible enemy.
“We lost 80% of our donors,” he said. “For the past few weeks, we have been asking for help. There are so many uncertainties, and there is so much fear.”
Funded by donation alone, it is incredibly tough for the rescue organization to continue saving animals without constant financial support. Likewise, it is almost impossible for them to sustain the medical needs of the dogs they care for at the hospital and their two rescue centers. Hence, Viktor appeals for help.
“To our donors and our friends, to anyone who loves animals and have been involved in animal rescue, you know what we do,” said Viktor. “If you are in a position to help, to set aside something for a good cause, please help us. Please donate.”
While a lot of people may not feel concerned about homeless dogs, abused, or neglected animals, Viktor, and his entire team dedicate their time and effort to help these poor animals. But they need help, too. Hundreds, probably even thousands, of dogs are still out there waiting for help.
Let us all extend our hands to them by donating a small amount to Let’s Adopt International. Together, we can do it.
