Grinch was scabby, hairless, and filthy when he was rescued and dropped off at an animal shelter in South Texas. The poor dog’s skin condition was so severe that he looked as if he was a giant walking pile of volcanic ash.
The shelter employees where Grinch was surrendered knew that they could not give the special care that Grinch needed to survive, so they contacted Rescue Dogs Rock NYC animal rescue facility for urgent assistance. Grinch immediately went through a thorough medical examination as soon as he arrived at his new temporary home.
Randie Semel, a Rescue Dogs Rock NYC volunteer, shared how sad Grinch looked when he arrived at their facility. Everybody saw how badly the poor dog needed help, so everybody stepped up to help him.
Randie shared that he and his colleagues initially could not tell what type of dog Grinch was because his skin condition was so terrible. They sent Grinch to a local vet, where he was given urgent treatment for his health problems.
Fortunately, Grinch managed to recover after a month of receiving treatments, so he was eventually placed in a foster home somewhere in the Northeast. However, Grinch was scarred terribly by his previous life on the streets, making him withdrawn emotionally towards humans and dogs alike.
Grinch kept his distance from everybody and preferred to be left alone, but his foster mom refused to give up on him. Luckily, he eventually learned how to trust people after quite some time, and both his fur and playful personality started to come out as time passed.
The German Shepherd and Malinois mix was recently placed with his new foster family, who ended up adopting him. Grinch’s new family was thrilled to see him transform into the sweetest dog he is now.
