This Senior Pooch Has Been Abused By Kids, But She Eventually Managed To Find A Life Full Of Love

This Senior Pooch Has Been Abused By Kids, But She Eventually Managed To Find A Life Full Of Love

Belle Ava September 3, 2022

Stray dogs always have it worse. The roads can endanger their lives, and some humans are cruel to them. Things may even get more miserable if the stray dog is already old.

A 10-year-old stray pooch from South Africa named Porkie seemed like she was about to give up on life. She had never experienced kindness, and she was usually bullied for her old age. To protect herself, she would usually hide under a bush. There, she silently suffered from some health conditions.

But things have truly changed for the better when kind individuals rescued her.

Porkie’s not-so-rosy life

The local kids were among the people who made life much more difficult for Porkie. Thankfully, an organization called Sidewalk Specials saw her beauty. The volunteers of the said organization dedicated themselves to saving Porkie and helping her build her strength and confidence.

When Porkie was found, she was hiding in the bush. She appeared hesitant to approach and trust humans since she had always been maltreated by heartless individuals.

The poor stray dog was pregnant when the volunteers took her in. And if she hadn’t been saved, her health conditions would have slowly taken a toll on her and her unborn puppies. She was enduring a severe eye injury and tick bite fever. Her teeth were also damaged because she had been eating rocks.

A home where Porkie is loved

After Porkie received love, care, and support from those who rescued her, she was eventually sent to a retirement home that would accommodate her better. In the end, a compassionate family based in Cape Town decided to take Porkie in.

The pup is now living comfortably. And for the very first time in her life, she could finally feel like a young pup again. She loves running around the house, and she feels super excited every time she goes for a walk.
