Tiny Pup With Jaw Broken In Nine Places Needed Surgery, Passionate Dog Rescuer Comes In And Turns Her Life Around

Tiny Pup With Jaw Broken In Nine Places Needed Surgery, Passionate Dog Rescuer Comes In And Turns Her Life Around

Belle Ava August 1, 2021

Zach Skow is a former alcoholic and drug abuser that has completely turned his life around. During the most difficult and challenging time of his life, he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease and was given only 90 days to live by his doctors. His condition gave him a sudden realization about what he has done with his life.

Changed man

One day, while he was resting on his bed, contemplating his situation, one of his dogs went up next to Zach and started cuddling with him. He felt the unconditional love and acceptance that was being shown to him. Right here and then he started crying and vowed to clean up his act.

For the next few days, he started spending more time with his dogs and walking them a lot. They would go to the mountains and hike regularly.

After two weeks, he went to the local humane society and asked them if he could foster some dogs. After that, he just kept adding more dogs to his pack. In a couple of months, he received great news. He didn’t need a liver transplant anymore as he was healed.

12 years later, he founded his own dog rescue organization called Marley’s Mutts, and he has saved thousands of dogs since then.

Vida

One of these dogs is a tiny chihuahua that was brought to the Kern County Animal Services. She was an abused dog that had her jaw broken in nine places. This caused her so much constant pain that she couldn’t eat, sleep, or do much anything else.

Zach was visiting the shelter that day and his heart broke in a million pieces when he learned about the dog’s situation. He immediately set out to find resources to help the poor pooch. He eventually came up with the money to have the dog get surgery. When she recovered, he took the pup, which he named Vida, and fostered her.

After a few months, a nice lady adopted her. Vida is now living a good life, loved and spoiled by her new owner.
