Wolves Start To Sing Along With Two Men By Howling

Wolves Start To Sing Along With Two Men By Howling

Belle Ava August 30, 2019

For musicians, performing in front of a massive audience singing to their songs is a glorious moment because it shows that many listen to their music. However, two artists decided to take it to a whole new level by performing in a sanctuary with wolves and wolf dogs as their audience.

Shawn James, and a multi-instrumentalist performer, Baker, played a music cover of American Hearts by A.A. Bondy in the deep snow at the W.O.L.F. Sanctuary in Colorado. The YouTube video uploaded by Anna Hutchison of BarnHub on March 29, 2013, received a whopping 4 million and 600 thousand views.

During their Colorado tour in 2013, the sanctuary agreed to host the band of Shawn and Baker. Shawn, Baker, and Anna toured the sanctuary’s facilities, where they learned about the wolves, the sanctuary’s purpose and mission for the animals.

While the weather was not in their favor due to heavy snowfall, Shawn spontaneously asked the sanctuary owner if they could perform outside together with the animals residing in the sanctuary. The owner agreed, and the musicians went back to get their instruments.

When they arrived, the sanctuary employees assisted Shawn, Baker, and Anna, to have an up-close encounter with the much tamer wolves before putting them into the enclosure to perform. They were taught by the workers not to make sudden movements that would startle the animals.

After spending some quality time with the animals, Shawn and Baker started to sing despite the freezing temperatures, which made their performance a bit challenging. As soon as Shawn finished singing the pre-chorus of the song, the wolves and wolf dogs started to join in as back-up vocals.

The wolves and wolf dogs’ howls added a magical effect on Shawn and Baker’s live performance in the sanctuary. Shawn, Baker, and Anna could not believe how incredible the entire encounter was and even had a wolf paw prints tattoed behind their ears to commemorate the experience.
