A driver of a truck was driving on Interstate 81 in New York when he saw something. A vehicle also running in the middle of the interstate was in front of him. Suddenly, he saw two beagles thrown out of the car’s window as if they were garbage.
The truck driver had to help. He stopped and pulled over to get to the dogs. He named the beagles Trooper and Adam. He brought them to the Broome County Humane Society.
One of Trooper’s legs in the front had to be amputated because of the accident. But that didn’t hinder the dog from living a good life.
In a few weeks, the two dogs were happy and were wagging their tails. They were happy to be together and alive.
They may have been thrown out as if they were trash, but people who learned about their story became interested. Over 100 individuals showed interest in taking them home. The shelter had to choose the best person to adopt the dogs, and it was Roger and Connie Miller who were chosen.
Connie said that she believes that it was love when they first met the dog duo. When they first saw Trooper and Adam, they felt that the dogs belonged with them in their home.
Roger said that they have been wanting to adopt a pair of dogs, and they were lucky that they got what they have been wishing for.
Todd Hubik is the adoption coordinator for Broome County Humane Society. He said that the entire shelter staff were feeling sad that the beagles had to leave so soon. But he also said that the staff were all happy that the dogs were going to a home with parents who love them.
They also knew that the couple would be taking good care of Trooper and Adam.
