The loyalty of a dog is richly rewarded in this initially tragic yet happy ending story. Police officers from St. Louis Metropolitan PD responded to a call about an unresponsive homeless man. Upon arriving at the scene, they could see that the man was already dead. But what is interesting is that someone loyally stayed and guarded over the body.
Kyle Lyon, one of the first responders, had to lure the dog away from his owner. Good thing he has got some taters which tempted the hungry and shivering dog. The loyal canine stayed by his dead homeless owner for about one and a half days despite the freezing weather. Kyle was impressed and later fell in love.
He immediately took the dog to a nearby shelter, the St. Louis Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment. He also enlisted his name as a possible adopter. The rescue reserves the right to claim the dog to the next of kin of the original owner.
Kyle visited the pooch right after his shift. He was allowed to bring the dog home for fostering while waiting for the decision of the owner’s next of kin. Kyle noticed that the dog was initially exhausted and stressed but soon acclimatized with his new environment. He eventually learned to trust Kyle and the good fortune he now enjoys.
The family of the dog’s original owner soon reached out to Kyle, who readily approved his adoption of the dog. They are happy for the dog to have found another loving owner. Kyle and the family now have regular communication so they could share news about the dog. The family from Texas also sent Kyle a photo of the dog with his original owner.
Kyle named his newly adopted dog Alley. In his recent post on Facebook, he proudly shared how Alley is now fully enjoying life. We are all looking forward to seeing them develop a much stronger relationship.
