It was a love story straight out of a fairytale book, canine edition.
A shy golden retriever, Lola, fell in love with Loki, the charming and handsome Staffordshire terrier, next door. It was a lovely romantic match – the type that made you believe love-at-first-sight existed.
Last March, Lola moved into her new home in the outskirts of Surrey, England, with her doting mom Amber Monte. After settling in on the new house, Lola decided to explore and walk around her new yard. Little did this pretty pup know she was about to meet her prince charming.
Lola soon received a cheerful welcome greeting from Loki, the dog-next-door. A long wooden fence separated their yards, but this barrier never stopped their fateful meeting or frequent visits with each other.
The two dogs soon got to know each other over time. Lola was genuinely delighted to have another pup she could constantly play with finally. The two would automatically hop at the fence, peering into each other’s yard for any sign that the other dog was available for playtime.
Amber never thought Lola fell for their neighbor’s dog. But Lola’s behavior revealed how close the pups became. Amber noticed her once-timid Lola was no longer scared when going out of their house. Lola pined for Loki when they weren’t together, crying softly by their front door for her mom to let her out and find him.
Loki even found a way to cross the barrier and be with his beloved. Amber recalled seeing the adorable pair playing in her garden, leaving her confused about how the handsome pup crossed over. Nowadays, the sight of a patiently waiting Loki sitting by their yard was an everyday occurrence.
The sight of the two enthusiastically playing around and constantly kissing each other made their owners truly glad. The two dogs were inseparable, and their parents never wanted it any other way.
