When Sandy Hernandez’s two dogs went missing, it broke his heart into pieces. He loved them so much, but he lost them all at once.
Apparently, the dogs managed to jump over the fence in his yard and ran away. They never managed to get back. Sandy searched for them all over for days but to no avail.
He never gave up, and he continued posting their pictures all over the neighborhood until every corner is covered. His efforts paid off when one day, a man called him. This man said that he found Sandy’s dogs roaming around the streets and informed him that he took them to Miami-Dade Animal Services.
On that same day, Miami-Dade Animal Services were doing a photoshoot for a magazine to highlight pet adoption. Thinking that the two dogs were strays, they decided to use them as models for the cause.
As they prepared for the shoot, a man nearby suddenly stopped his car, got off, and ran to them. It was Sandy Hernandez!
He yelled, “That’s my dog, man! That’s my dog.” The poor guy was so caught up in the moment that he didn’t even park his car!
He completely lost himself and cried tears of joy. He hugged them with all his might. The best part? It all happened on camera!
Sandy’s Siberian Huskies are three years old and eleven months old. Their names are Ragnar and Kloud, and they are finally back at home.
This event made Sandy realize the importance of microchips. So, he decided to get one for each of them to avoid the same thing from happening.
You can watch how it all happened in the video below:
Losing your dog could be quite devastating, and the process of finding them is stressful. May this be a lesson to all dog owners out there that microchips are essential if you own a dog. Just take it from Sandy Hernandez himself.
Thanks to CBS Miami for the video and photos.
