A small family from Texas traveled to Butte, Montana to celebrate the holiday season with relatives. Unfortunately, just a few hours after they arrived, their four-month-old Pug was able to escape the house where they were staying. Unfamiliar with his surroundings, the little canine soon got lost.
The dog owners were distraught. Their pet was very excitable and could get into trouble. They quickly searched for him and even reported him missing to the local authorities. It was Christmas Eve, and it seemed that there wouldn’t be a happy celebration for them.
But, thanks to the concerned firefighters and some locals, the family received the best Christmas gift they could ever have.
Danger
The local firefighters were called into action when several citizens reported a small dog who was in the middle of a very busy street. That road always had heavy traffic as multiple large chain stores surrounded it. It also leads to the airport. The callers said the pup was scared, running around, and could get hit.
The rescuers wasted no time and proceeded to the area. When they arrived, the locals had already stopped the traffic so the puppy wouldn’t get hit by a car. The firefighters then surrounded the canine, who hid under a parked car.
Soon, they pulled him out and handed the shivering Pug to animal control officers. The crowd cheered when they saw the young dog was safe and unharmed.
Reunited with the family
The Pug was brought to the local shelter, where he would stay until his owners were found. Their resident veterinarian checked him and found no injuries or medical concerns.
After a few hours in the facility, word got to the pup’s family that their pet had been found. They quickly rushed to the shelter and had an emotional reunion. The dog’s owners were overjoyed and grateful to have their pet back.
