After a dog gives birth at an animal shelter, its puppies are quickly adopted. Meanwhile, those same dogs are often confined inside a kennel for months, waiting for someone to adopt them. Fortunately, kind people sometimes come along to give some of these dogs a chance to have a fulfilling life.
One such dog is Brisbane, who gave birth at a shelter and was left unadopted until Caroline came along. Caroline made a decision that only a few would make, but she never regretted doing so. That’s because she later discovered that Brisbane is a very talented and loving dog.
Brisbane’s name has a significant meaning to Caroline. The dog was named after the place where she met her husband. It’s a fitting name since Brisbane was the first dog that Caroline adopted after she got married.
Brisbane was timid during the first few months in her new home. That’s not surprising, considering that the dog lived under poor conditions for most of her life. Fortunately, she became more outgoing and sociable after growing closer to her new owner.
Caroline was always impressed by how fast Brisbane could learn new tricks. The woman only spends a week at max to teach Brisbane any command. After learning a trick, Brisbane would always be eager to show off by following the woman’s commands without hesitation.
Caroline owns another dog named Kibbles. As an older dog, she is less energetic than Brisbane. Yet despite their differences, the two dogs get along quite well. They are both loved by Caroline, even if one dog receives more attention than the other.
There is no doubt that Caroline is a kind person who believes every dog deserves a happy life. She is aware that dogs that are unpopular are mostly misunderstood. Hence, she encourages and sets an example for others to give unwanted dogs a chance.
